Frequently Asked Questions

  • Therapy can be a vulnerable and personal experience, and there’s no right or wrong way to prepare. I invite you to come exactly as you are. You might want to kick off your shoes, sip a warm tea, and lean into whatever feels important in the moment. If you feel nervous or unsure where to begin, we can decide a starting point together.

Some people find it helpful to reflect or journal beforehand about goals, hopes, or challenges they’d like to explore. Most importantly, we’ll shape this journey together so it feels supportive, safe, and aligned with your needs.

  • I offer a limited number of sliding scale options to ensure accessible mental health support is available to those navigating a financial barrier.

Please contact me directly to get more information about my sliding scales rates and current openings.

  • While I don’t offer direct billing for extended health insurance, most policies offer varying coverage for counselling sessions with a designated Registered Clinical Counsellor.

After your payment for session has gone through, you will be emailed a receipt to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Each insurance company is different, offering various plans and coverage. Please reach out to your insurance provider directly if you have any questions about your policy or to confirm your coverage for counselling and psychotherapy.

  • There is a 48-hour cancellation policy.

This means you have up to 48-hours before your scheduled time to cancel or reschedule your session, free of charge. For sessions cancelled with 24-48 hours notice, half of the fee will be charged, and you will be charged the full amount for session for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.

I am always happy to reschedule within the same week, for no charge, as long as there is an available time in my schedule. Please remember there is no guarantee of this flexibility or availability.

I understand that things happen in life, often out of our control, and I always invite you to contact me directly to start a conversation around your needs and the best way to move forward.

  • Everyones healing journey is different.

Deeper work often happens with consistency and intention, and most clients find value in weekly or bi-weekly sessions. But, even if you can only show up once, its worth it.

Depending on your needs, time availability, and financial accessibility, some folks join me for weekly sessions while others check-in once per month.

If you are curious around what might be right for you, I invite you to reach out for a free consultation. Let’s explore what support could look like for you.

  • While I have experience working with couples, children, and youth, my practice is currently limited to individual counselling with adults (18+).

Please contact me if you are looking for support for your relationship or teen as I may be able to refer you to another available counsellor or resource.
